Advent sunday

Christmas decoration with lichen balls
On the first Sunday of Advent, I make small steps to bring the Christmas spirit into the house.

Pots with lichen Holy picture of Christmas Gloria Pax

A carpet of lichen which I pampered, thinking about the future festive decor, delights me and reinforces the pleasure of making small, natural scenes.

Antique molds cling to old pots and small pearls glimmer in the light of candles before the young girl with the branch.

Holiday jam

Confiture de fête
It is not always easy to give a festive atmosphere to the kitchen.
That is why I transform the jam jars to decorate my dresser.

A simple pleasure to contemplate these small fireflies over a cup of steaming tea and imagine, for a moment, that you’re in a chalet in the mountains !

Pot de confiture de fête
“Recipe” for this festive jam :
  • Some wood chips or small slivers of wood at the bottom of the pots to hide the switches of the garland lights which are battery powered.
  • A piece of cheese cloth cut into a squares and frayed, to cover the pots.
  • Then tie in place with a linen string.

«Our children will accuse us»

Dédicace au film «Nos enfants nous accuseront»
A little particular post to spread about a documentary : «Our children will accuse us».
It is about an environmental tragedy : the poisoning of our contryside by chemical agriculture and the damages it has caused to public health, especially that of our children. The film «Our children will accuse us» recounts the courageous initiative of one municipality, that of Barjac in the Gard (France), a nearby village to at home, which has instigated organic produce for all school meals, financing the extra cost from the municipality budget.
Aware of the health risks which threaten a young population exposed to the 76 000 tonnes of pesticides used each year in France, one mayor decided to take the bull by the horns by setting an unprecedented political example, alerting public opinion and elected authorities to the scandalous abuses of an economic system which places its profits and interests above those of the population's health.
This is a film dedicated to the painful truth.

Advent candles

Old glass bottles, for which I could find no other use, are transformed into simple candle holders for my Advent candles.

A small square of soft, frayed fabric around each candle catches the wax drippings.

Danish shopping

During a few days of vacation, I could not resist the urge to take a look at Lily Rose.
And as you can imagine the temptations are great.

Mise en scène dans vieux cadre de lanternes et pots en verre
Small zinc lanterns cling to wire stretched within an old patinated frame, forming a festive luminous garland.

Pots en verre estampillés

I also love these glass jars, recalling old pharmacy jars.
And this pretty tablecloth, with its crocheted edge, decorates my holiday table.

Hearts of lichen

I always have such pleasure in collecting the treasures of nature, then arranging them in wooden crates, away from the light and humidity. And at a later time, use them for small creations.

Some of you already know my passion for hearts and even though my collection is already impressive, I wanted to create lichen hearts this weekend.

During my stroll, I am always surprised and filled with wonder by the various specimens and colors of these mosses and lichens which give our decorations this natural touch.
