Market Day in Sommières

The medieval town of Sommières and the Vidourle river Old stamps

Saturday morning is market day in the medieval town of Sommières.

Old liqueur glasses Olive oil bottles

Take the footbridge which crosses the Vidourle.
Hunt for antiques under the shade of the trees on the esplanade.

Olives Trumpet

Take the street Mazelle for easier access to the market square.

Admire the stalls filled with local produce bursting with sunshine.

Figs

Sit on the terrace of Bistro Sansavino to quench your thirst or to taste the dish of the day prepared with produce from the market.

Set out again with a happy heart thanks to catchy tunes of a passing brass band.

I love the photo's, it brings back memories of my visits there.
I LOVE figs, at the place we stayed there was a fig tree and I was collecting them daily, mmmm!
