A bedroom in the alcove

Room of the Suite of the guest house Un Cœur très Nature, in the Provençal Gard Tête de lit réalisée avec de vieux volets à caissons détournés

To finish out the bedroom of our new suite "Memories", which is found behind a wide opening in an alcove, I delved into my reserve of antique objects found over the years.

Abat-jour suspension réalisé à partir de chutes de tissus et de dentelles Un garde-manger détourné en table de chevet

I chose to restore a few items and give them a second life.

For example, an antique speaker from a gramophone is transformed into a hanging light.
A pair of old shutters with trim is attached to the wall and becomes a headboard for the bed, and a meat safe becomes a bedside table.

The drapes which frame the bed are home-made from scraps of ancient fabric.
