A Day at the Mazet

A mazet lost amid the vineyards
The first days of beautiful spring sunshine are finally here and there is the overwhelming desire to enjoy the mazet (a small provincial cottage).

Near the well The mazet under a cedar

Lost amid the vineyards, the tiny resort in the countryside promises delicious moments of rest, pastoral meals animated by tall stories.

In the spring, greener, less hot, sweet moments can be enjoyed in the sun or the shade of the large cedar.

Old well The mazet in the midle of the vineyards

The mazet, covered with old plaster and decorated with a wooden valance, needs maintenance ; the grass hopes to be mowed. That can wait awhile, for it’s time for lunch and a nap under the fragrant cherry tree.

Objects found in a flea market

Bring from the little house table and chairs. Draw the well water to wash vegetables from the basket. Start a small fire from a few vines on the little house and soon the whole family stirs to prepare the meal.
