The portrait of a young lady

My hands are never empty when I come back home after a walk.
I like picking branches broken by the wind.
I keep them in my greenery workshop for future decorations.
Today I feel like adorning them with ranunculus to invite Spring in my home and share what I last bought with you.

I was touched by the look of the young lady.
I put some ranunculus around. It means «radiant and charming».

A nice cloche to complete it. I could see a similar one at my friend's, Pampille.

A metal little basket with a rose on its handle.

An enamelled medallion adorned with a nice rose too.

A taste of Spring

A match of grey and pink to emphasize the transparency of the glass.
A nice match of colours and materials my dear friends Eivlys, Fred and Viccha like so much.

Inspiration has come to me while admiring the in bloom cherry and almond trees edging the fields and vineyards in Provence.
Indeed there is a taste of Spring in our nice countrysides !

As I have already told you here, here are the last objects I bargain-hunted : some covers, sweet boxes and sugar bowls.
Those glass-works were lined on a stall.
The stallholder made me a very reasonable price, I was lucky.

It is one of those Sundays when it is "La vie en rose" !

A "couture" antique

Here are the objects I found last weekend, it was "couture"/sewing antiques.
I particularly like old taylor's dummies as I have already shown you here.
It is true that objects that belong to the past are the ones I prefer and this old dummy represents a kind of witness.

It was waiting for me somehow.
Further an impressive collection of old reels (cotton, linen and wool) whose colours are so subtle.

Just imagine how happy I was when I discovered all those shades !
I chose green, pink and some other natural shades.

Other surprises were waiting for me and they are coming for you soon.

An aromatic bunch

Picking a bunch of herbs from my region, Provence, is a way to celebrate the fact that I am back from a secondhand trade.

A little hook with holly leaves and a small pine cone...

And this collection of sculpted pieces of wood that is fragrant with bay-leaves, rosemary and thyme.

The Book of Love Missives

It is soon Valentine's Day and my heart was unable to resist to this refined collection of books made for "La Comédie Française" and published by "Le Thé des Écrivains".

It is such a pleasure to remove these tear-off love letters from this "Book of Love Missives" to write a few words to the one you love !

How delightful it is for me to give you those Christmas roses whose corollas have just blossomed !

I also find the restaurant "Cristal Room Baccarat" (Paris) so romantic !
I would like to discover this enchanting place one day !

Delicacies with almonds

You feel like experiencing sweetness, flavours and freshness...

The softness of the colours and materials...

The flavour of cocoa and almonds...

The freshness of the laurustinus flowers from my garden.

Small and nice blue-shaded molds (Rice) I have found here.

Here is the recipe :

Melt 50 g of butter.
In a bowl mix 100 g of almond powder, 100 g of icing sugar and 2 eggs (one by one).
Add 20 g of flour, 15 g of cocoa powder and the melted butter.
Wait for ½ hour.
Preheat the oven 210°C.
Pour the preparation in the molds.
Add 50 g of split almonds.
Bake in the preheated oven for 7 or 10 minutes (it depends on the molds you use).
